Power supply...

Postby RHill on Mon May 25, 2009 5:54 pm

I recently bought a MM at a garage sale for a few bucks as it did not have the 12 volt power supply anymore. It appears to be in very good condition.

I understand I need a 12 volt 0.6 amp power supply, and I have a 12 volt 1 amp trickle charger I can use. The spade lugs at the back of the machine are quite small, but I had two small female plugs that fit quite nicely.

So:
Question #1: Which is the positive and which is the negative?
Question #2: How do I tell which model I have.
Question #3: There appears to be an LED behind the switch on the back. Is this where I'll find the error codes?

Thank you one and all.

My Defender power supply is 12 Volts A.C. (no polarity). The internal circuit board converts it to D.C. There should be a name plate on the MM somewhere? My Defender has a LED built into the switch.

Thanks!

I took it apart, and the circuit board says it's a Defender, so that's good to know. The ignitor glows red, but not brightly so, when I took it out and connected it directly to the 12V 1 amp power source I have. I guess I need something a little beefier!

Time to go hunting through the junk box and see what I can find.

Thanks,

Roger
